Advantages and Features of Ellanse
While there are many products for facial contouring and augmentation, Ellanse quickly gained acceptance among both physicians and customers after its market release, maintaining its prominent position. It’s got the advantages of other injectables while minimizing certain drawbacks.
Ellanse combines the characteristics of hyaluronic acid, regenerative materials, and RADIESSE. Like hyaluronic acid, it provides “immediate filling” effects, while also “stimulating collagen” production like RADIESSE and regenerative materials. However, unlike some materials that require continuous postoperative massage or waiting for autologous collagen to grow for 1-2 months before noticeable effects, Ellanse can be more widely used for lifting and contouring without these requirements.
The Mechanism of Ellanse
The Mechanism
of Ellanse
Ellanse primarily consists of 30% PCL (polycaprolactone) and 70% CMC-based gel carrier (Carboxymethylcellulose).
When Ellanse is used for filling, it is injected into the dermis layer of the concave area. The CMC-based gel carrier initially provides adequate support, resulting in an immediate filling effect on the skin. Once the CMC-based gel carrier is absorbed, the PCL microspheres continue to stimulate cells, inducing the proliferation of autologous collagen, along long-lasting effects.
The CMC-based gel carrier consists of smooth microcrystalline spheres with small particles, providing immediate filling support. It has high viscosity and elasticity, filling surface depressions of the skin and sculpting facial features. As the PCL microspheres are gradually absorbed by the body, they are replaced by naturally regenerated collagen, which helps the skin maintain its fullness and elasticity for a longer time.
↑ (Over time, the PCL microspheres are absorbed by the body, while the natural collagen gradually fills the space left by the spheres.)
